Week 12 Start/ Sit Part 2: RBs

For the previous part:
Week 12 Start/ Sit Part 1: QBs

An expanded version with players from readers' feedback included will be posted on Friday. This is Part 2 of the starts and sits for Week 12:

RB

Start 'Em

Beanie Wells (at Rams)- this is the second straight week that a running back going against the Rams is in this list. Wells was on the other side of this list last week when he faced a tough 49ers defense. This week he has a much easier matchup against St. Louis. Wells should be able to take full advantage of this great matchup against a Rams defense that has gotten worse and now allowed the 6th most fantasy points to running backs (they were 7th before Week 11).

DeMarco Murray (vs. Dolphins)- this is the third straight week that Murray has made this list. As pointed out before, Murray is quickly climbing into the ranks of must-starts every week. He struggled a little last week, but he is still the lead back even with Felix Jones back healthy. Murray should have continued success on Thursday against Miami.

Marshawn Lynch (vs. Redskins)- this is the second straight week that a running back going against Washington is in this list and also the second straight week that Lynch is in this list. The Redskins were able to slow down Murray last week, but overall they have allowed lots of fantasy points to running backs. Lynch has been playing well lately and should continue to so in Week 12.

Sit 'Em

Ryan Grant (at Lions)- Grant has been downright terrible this season and there is no reason to believe that will change on Thursday against Detroit even if James Starks is out. Grant has not looked like his old self and is part of the best passing team in the NFL. The Lions defense he will be facing this week has only allowed 3 touchdowns to running backs this season. The deck is completely stacked against him and there is no reason why he should be in any sane person's starting lineup.

Ryan Torain (at Seahawks)- Torain has been the starter lately in Washington, but has not done much with those starts and has not received the majority of the carries even while starting. It is anyone's guess as to what Mike Shanahan will do with his backfield on any Sunday. The timeshare of Torain, Roy Helu and Evan Royster that will be facing a Seattle defense that has allowed 8th fewest fantasy points to running backs. Stay as far away from Redskins running backs and this matchup as you can.

Toby Gerhart (at Falcons)- Gerhart is in line to start in place of the injured Adrian Peterson, but you will be disappointed if you are expecting much out of him against Atlanta. It will be a road game against a Falcons team that is ranked 2nd against the run and that has allowed the 3rd fewest fantasy points to running backs. Gerhart is not worth starting in Week 12.
